Where we come from

It started in student studios in Brno. A handful of people with one question: why does concrete have to be heavy and cold? brote grew out of that question. Without much capital, but with an obsession for getting the details right. Today we make furniture and lighting from microcement 70% lighter than ordinary concrete. By hand, in small batches.

What we believe

A home isn't built in a day. It comes together piece by piece, from things that outlast the years and gain character with time. We make furniture meant to last a generation, not a season. Instead of trends we look for calm, timelessness and honesty of material.

Three things we insist on

Lightness. Microcement 70% lighter than ordinary concrete. One person moves and installs a piece.
Durability. Two coats of impregnation, a 24-month warranty, a 20+ year lifespan. A few minutes of care a month.
Uniqueness. Each piece is made by hand to order. Natural stone is 100% original, no two pieces alike.

How we make it

Every object is made by hand in a European workshop. Forming, sanding, two coats of impregnation, a final inspection. Each piece holds hours of handwork. That's why we make to order and in small batches, not for stock.
